Prerequisites and Requirements¶
The AWS Enhanced Studio Pack CloudFormation deployment is geared towards non-technical users. With this in mind we strive to keep the number of technical prerequisites and requirements to a minimum.
From an AWS perspective this deployment assumes you have the following:
- an AWS account
- access to the AWS account with administrator level privileges
- an EC2 SSH Key Pair created
No specialized AWS skills are required to complete this deployment. Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation, EC2, Linux, and SSH are helpful but not required.
Storage¶
Size¶
Refer to the Helix Core Server Administrator Guide for making decisions on disk sizes.
Keep in mind AWS allows your to grow EBS disk sizes dynamically post deployment without any down time.

Type¶
All volumes created by the Enhanced Studio Pack CloudFormation are gp3. If you have a use case where you need a different volume type you can easily change the volume type using the AWS Console post deployment without any down time.
CPU and Memory¶
Refer to the Helix Core Server Administrator Guide for making decisions on CPU and memory.
Operating System¶
All EC2 instances will use Rocky 8.
